Asian football body suspends chief

The Asian Football Confederation said it had provisionally suspended its scandal-tainted chief Mohamed bin Hammam over possible ethical violations.

The Qatari has been fighting allegations that he tried to buy FIFA delegates' votes while campaigning to unseat the world body's long-standing president, Sepp Blatter, in a leadership election last year.
